Kintock's Jen Garcia & Marquis Johnson Receive Humanitarian Award From Tzedek Association

Kintock is proud to share that Jennifer Garcia, Newark Site Administrator, and Marquis Johnson, Newark Facility Director, were recipients of the Humanitarian Award by Rabbi Moshe Margaretten, President of the Tzedek Association.

The Tzedek Association's Humanitarian Award recognizes Ms. Garcia and Mr. Johnson’s outstanding compassion and dedication while caring for Mr. Joel Steinger, a paralyzed individual who was formerly under supervision at Kintock’s Newark program.

“I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand how you both treated Mr. Joel Steinger, of blessed memory, with the utmost humanity,” said Rabbi Wess. “Despite his status as an inmate, you consistently showed him dignity and respect – as every human being deserves. Your compassion and professionalism did not go unnoticed.”

Each year, the Tzedek Association, based in Newark, presents this award to individuals who demonstrate righteousness, empathy and a commitment to justice. The organization continues to work to support incarcerated individuals and their families, advocating for fairness and a better future.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Garcia and Mr. Johnson for this well-deserved recognition. Their work is an inspiration for us all here at Kintock!
